Brunswick students form quarter-mile human chain for food donations

Mid Coast Now - Students at St. John's Catholic School in Brunswick held its annual food charity event this week in which students formed a human chain to pass donated food items from the school to Midcoast Hunger Prevention Program headquarters, where it will help feed Midcoast residents in need. “This event is one of the most meaningful parts of our school year,” Principal John Yorkey said. “It teaches our students the importance of community, service and the impact we can have when we work together.”

Curtis Memorial Librar
y is hosting a gardening lecture next Wednesday, June 18. The event will be held by Sustainable Brunswick, and is described as a "no-pressure crash course in the wonderfully weird world of composting, indoor jungles and backyard gardening."

If you're looking for some festivities to enjoy this weekend, Brunswick Pride returns to the Town Mall on Saturday. Pride festivities begin at noon on June 14 at the Mall. More information is available on the Brunswick Maine Pride Instagram and Facebook pages. The committee is also accepting donations and sponsor sign-ups on its website.
