The All Roads music festival, which has been held in Belfast for the past decade, is expanding to Portland this year. The two-day event will be held May 15 & 16.
- Bill Nye, commonly known as "Bill Nye the Science Guy" will deliver the keynote address at the commencement ceremony for Unity College. The commencement will take place on May 9 at Portland's Merrill Auditorium.
- Maine will have two dogs represented in Animal Planet's Annual Puppy Bowl. Both dogs, Auggie and Lobster Roll, were both adopted from the Animal Refuge League in Westbrook. This is the 8th consecutive year Maine has had representation in the Puppy Bowl.
A woman is dead after she was hit by a vehicle during a crash in Harpswell.The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says a 41-year-old man was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado north on Harpswell Islands Road (Maine Route 24) at about 2:49 p.m. on Wednesday when he crossed the centerline and opposite lane and hit a 2019 BMW X3 that was parked on the shoulder.Police said the driver of the BMW, Jean Appleby Johnson, 71, had gotten out of the vehicle before the crash, but was hit by the truck. Despite life-saving efforts at the scene, Johnson died at the scene.The driver of the truck was taken to MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Portland with what police said were non-life-threatening injuries. The crash was still under investigation Wednesday evening and it was not clear if any charges were going to be filed.
