Press Herald - According to the Maine Pomological Society, there are upwards of 27 varieties of apples grown in Maine. Among the more interesting names are are Nodhead, Spencer, Wolf River and Chenango Strawberry. While this summer’s drought is having an effect on gardens and some crops, experts say apples appear to be unaffected. With more than 80 orchards across the state, there’s likely one within driving distance, wherever you are.

Press Herald - State officials believe AI use in Maine schools is widespread and districts are increasingly developing guidelines for its use. One platform, called MagicSchool, told the Maine Monitor it already has over 8,500 educator accounts in the state. The governor’s AI task force is expected to release a report on the "opportunities and risks" of the technology this fall.
