Freeport News Wednesday

Press Herald - Bay Bowls, the Maine-based mini-chain specializing in superfood fruit bowls and smoothies, aims to open a location in downtown Freeport this fall. Sal Matari, who co-founded Bay Bowls with his wife, Soraia, said their company’s newest location will be at 32 Main St., the former home of Sip House coffee shop. The Freeport store is licensed to owner Diane Bowley, Matari said. The 1,000-square-foot space will have 15 seats, and be open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. As at Bay Bowls’ other locations, the menu at the Freeport shop will offer smoothies and fruit bowls featuring nutritionally dense “superfoods” like açaí and pitaya.
