Ways to Access Assistance
We live in a society that centers “rugged individualism” and stigmatizes the need for help as “weakness” or “personal failure.” But the truth is that most of us will need help to make ends meet at some point and that needing help is not an issue of morality, but one of necessity and neutrality. FCS understands that and provides judgement-free assistance in many forms. The following are available to all Freeport and Pownal residents at no cost:
- Food Pantry: Mon 11-3, Tue 9:30-11:30, Wed 11-1:30
- Summer Snack Bags and BackPack Program (available to ALL RSU5 students without restriction)
- Community Lunch (first and third Friday of the month January-October)
- Home Delivery
- Holiday Meals
- Community Gardens
- Home Heating Assistance
- Transportation
- Medical Equipment
- Summer camp scholarships
- Read to Success
- Holiday Helpline (gift assistance)
- Thanksgiving Day Meal

Ways to Include FCS in Your Activism
Whether contributing money, time, clothes/household items, or food, we can all incorporate community care in our activism. When we all help in our own way, we can all breathe a little easier knowing that we live in a community where help exists when we need it.
