Maine Beacon -  Maine educators are expanding climate learning opportunities for students as warmer temperatures and extreme weather events alter the state’s natural environment. A new Climate Literacy Plan aims to help teachers tackle climate change at all grade levels and inspire students to take climate action in their own communities.  Teddy Lyman, climate education specialist for the Maine Department of Education, said nearly 30 locally-designed projects for educators are underway statewide with 10 more in development.

Press Herald - A proposal to guarantee the right to hunt and fish in Maine’s Constitution won broad bipartisan support in the Maine House of Representatives Thursday, but the initial vote fell short of the two-thirds threshold needed to send the proposed amendment to voters. The proposal will still get another House vote and a second chance to meet the threshold. It now heads to the state Senate for an initial vote in that chamber. 

WGME - A bill to end REAL IDs in Maine is not moving forward. The sponsor claimed the IDs provide a false sense of security and are expensive.  But critics pointed out this is a federal requirement, so opting out would do little to help Mainers. Both the Maine House and Senate have voted to kill the bill.
