Scalloping can resume
Press Herald -The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced Friday afternoon that fishermen will be allowed to resume scalloping
on Monday through the remainder of the season, which ends once the
limit — 675,563 pounds — has been caught. Regulators shut down the
fishery earlier this month after scallopers hit a temporary limit —
314,364 pounds — that goes into effect when federal regulators do not
pass annual rules in time.
